Assassin’s Creed or Future Assassin’s Creed games may not be lengthy RPGs, according to publisher Ubisoft, who intends to take a different tack. The length of recent Assassin’s Creed games has drawn considerable criticism. Assassin’s Creed games transitioned from being situated in a congested metropolis to leaving players wild in a vast open world loaded with side quests and activities, which is partially to blame for the sheer scale of the game environment.

Publisher Ubisoft says it plans to take a different approach and future Assassin’s Creed games may not be extensive RPGs. Recent Assassin’s Creed games have come under heavy fire for their length. The Assassin’s Creed games changed from taking place in a packed city to letting players roam free in a wide-open world filled with side quests and activities, which is partially to blame for the size of the game’s environment.

Future installments in the Assassin’s Creed series may be shorter, according to an interview with IGN. Marc-Alexis Cote, the vice president and executive producer of Assassin’s Creed, began the interview by talking about Assassin’s Creed Mirage. According to Cote, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a lesser-known installment in the franchise and costs $50. It’s being created to commemorate the series’ 15th anniversary and will have more of an emphasis on stealth and parkour.

Cote later affirmed that players will be able to complete Assassin’s Creed Mirage in between 15 to 20 hours, which is shorter than the franchise’s most recent titles. Later on, he said that the Infinity Project would enable Ubisoft to approach upcoming games in a number of ways. For instance, Assassin’s Creed Red is a sizable open-world game with a Japanese feudal setting, but other games might not adhere to the same model. After that, Cote said that not every game would be a 150-hour RPG, so from now on, players might anticipate some shorter games in the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

Cote affirmed that Assassin’s Creed Hexi is not an RPG in the same interview. Along with Assassin’s Creed Red, Assassin’s Creed Hexi is a part of the Infinity Project, though Ubisoft has not provided many details about it other than the fact that it was created by Ubisoft Montreal. It appears that Ubisoft is making distinct games for each segment of the fan base in an effort to appease every fan of this enormous property. For instance, the audience segment that wants the franchise to go back to its roots is the target demographic for Assassin’s Creed Mirage. It will be intriguing to observe how the series develops over time.
