Will GTA 6 Be Cross Platform? The community’s anticipation and excitement for the highly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto 6 have surged since Rockstar Games’ recent announcement. Many of the same questions have started to surface again since the company recently confirmed the release of the first trailer for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto game. Will the eagerly anticipated game be cross-platform? There are no specifics regarding crossplay support in Grand Theft Auto VI, aside from the trailer announcement that was just released.

It hasn’t stopped the community and Redditors from making assumptions about the new features, though. As cross-platform play is absent from the current GTA 5 Online, many players are hoping that Rockstar Games will surprise them. Here is what we currently know about the game’s cross-play functionality.

Will GTA 6 Have Cross Platform or Crossplay Support?

No, even though Rockstar Games hasn’t made any official comments about it, GTA 6 probably won’t support cross-play. Similar to GTA 5 Online’s lack of cross-platform compatibility, it’s probable that the upcoming game won’t offer any support. Rockstar Games would prefer, though, to entice players with fresh features and maybe even console compatibility. Therefore, there’s a chance that GTA 6 will have cross-platform gameplay. This is still just conjecture at this time.

In the unlikely event that it does, players from various consoles can collaborate. Through this, gamers on the PlayStation and Xbox platforms could connect for an online session with each other. Given the possibilities, many players will find GTA VI to be an improvement over its predecessor in that scenario. But in the end, the final say and decision rests solely with the developers.

Due to a leak in September 2022, the silver lining is that GTA VI will have a multiplayer mode. This leak was also confirmed by Rockstar Games on X:

“At this time, we do not anticipate any disruption to our live game services nor any long-term effect on the development of our ongoing projects.”

Therefore, a multiplayer GTA Online sequel is definitely in the works. However, until we have more information, the cross-platform support is regrettably still unknown.
