The last of us remake news ThMEe Last Of Us, probably PlayStation’s most recognizable modern classic, is coming to PC for the first time. This comes in the shape of the game’s long-awaited remake (which isn’t really needed, but whatever). The most amusing aspect is the crazy name they’ve given it: The original will now be known as The Last Of Us Part 1 as a result of the sequel.

Aside from the absurd titles, this game is fantastic. It’s based on Cormac McCarthy’s The Road and follows Joel and Ellie across a frightening post-apocalyptic America. Ellie’s blood may hold the secret to curing whatever virus has caused this, and Joel’s goal is to get her to the correct people safely. I strongly advise you to play it if you haven’t already.

The game‘s announcement was a little sloppy: it was leaked on Sony’s own PlayStation Direct site, and ResetEra scooped up the listing before it was taken down. The internet is to be praised! For the time being, the trailer is still available.

During today’s Summer Game Fest, Naughty Dog revealed the first trailer for The Last of Us Part 1, which is simply titled The Last of Us. Just before the event, the remake was leaked on the official PlayStation Store, but now we have confirmation.

Neil Druckmann of Naughty Dog said on stage that the team wants the remake to represent the final version of the game, unencumbered by any technology. This includes improved facial animation (using Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson’s original performances) and a new fighting AI.

The Last of Us remake will feature modernized gameplay, enhanced controls, and extended accessibility choices, according to the press release. You’ll also feel immersed with upgraded effects and greater exploration and fighting, according to the studio. And if the word remake isn’t enough, the clip confirms that the game has been rebuilt from the ground up on PS5, and we can see what effectively looks like The Last of Us 2 aesthetics put over the original Last of Us game from 2013.
